Does anyone have their ducks in a row? I stumbled across a poem about how we think we can control aspects of our lives but sometimes things just settle into place on their own… and the scary part is accepting that. The little house is a nod to the tiny, tidy life we all imagine we should have, while the ducks (especially the one with its butt in the air) remind me that life is rarely that neat. Some ducks follow, some wander, and some are just hungry. That’s okay.
I used bold, playful colors like bright yellow, lively green, and lavender to make it feel like a moment out of a children’s book. It’s a bit chaotic, a bit sweet, and very much about accepting the mess with humor.
This piece would be perfect in an entryway, office, or studio - any place where you’re trying (but not trying too hard) to get things in order.
